1 Photo Storage Duration
Photos uploaded to NostaView are stored per event. Each plan has a retention window that starts from the event's creation date. After the retention period expires, photos enter a grace period before permanent deletion.

Schools can download all photos at any time before the retention period ends. We send an email reminder 7 days before expiration. Use the Download All button in your event dashboard to export a full ZIP of all photos.
How the Grace Period Works
When a retention period ends, photos are not immediately deleted. They enter a 7-day grace period where they remain accessible and downloadable but no new uploads are accepted. After the 7-day grace period, photos are permanently and irreversibly deleted from our servers.
Extending Retention
Upgrading your plan before the retention window closes will apply the higher-tier retention to all active events retroactively. For example, upgrading from Free to Basic within 14 days of event creation extends retention to 30 days from the original creation date.
2 Acceptable Use
NostaView is built specifically for schools collecting event photos — graduation, sports days, field trips, performances, and similar school activities. This is not a general-purpose photo hosting service.

❌ Not Permitted
- Commercial photography hosting or portfolio use
- Non-school personal photo storage
- Hosting events unrelated to a school or educational institution
- Reselling storage or event access to third parties
- Using NostaView as a generic file storage service
Content Standards
All content uploaded to NostaView must comply with our Acceptable Use Policy. This includes:
- No illegal, harmful, or sexually explicit content of any kind
- No content that bullies, harasses, or defames individuals
- No AI-generated deepfakes or misleading impersonations
- No content unrelated to the event for which the QR code was issued
Administrator Responsibility
School administrators are responsible for moderating all photos uploaded to their events. NostaView provides the tools; your school sets the standards. Admins should review submitted photos regularly using the built-in moderation dashboard (approve, reject, flag as inappropriate).
NostaView cannot proactively review every photo uploaded to every school event. By creating an event, your school accepts responsibility for moderating content uploaded to it. We provide automated quality flagging (on Pro) and in-app moderation tools to help — but final review is yours.
NostaView reserves the right to remove content that violates these terms and to suspend or terminate accounts with repeated violations. See our Acceptable Use Policy for the full enforcement table.
3 Data & Privacy Rights
You Own Your Photos
Photos uploaded by your school belong to your school. NostaView is a storage and processing platform — we don't claim ownership, licensing rights, or any right to use your photos for any purpose other than operating the service.
Sell your photos · Share them with advertisers · Use them to train AI models · Use them in marketing materials · Transfer them to third parties without your consent
Your Rights as a School
- Data export: Request a full export of all your school's data (photos, event metadata, contributor records) at any time by emailing supports@nostaview.com.
- Account deletion: Request full deletion of your account and all associated data. All data is removed within 30 days of confirmation. This action is irreversible.
- Photo deletion: Admins can delete individual photos or entire events at any time from the dashboard. Deleted content is permanently removed within 24 hours.
- Correction: Contact us to correct inaccurate account or school information.
FERPA Compliance
NostaView is designed for FERPA-compliant school use. School administrators control all photo access and moderation. Student photo uploaders are not required to create accounts and do not have their personal data stored beyond the metadata attached to their upload (IP address, device type, upload timestamp). Admins control who can view event galleries.
NostaView operates as a school official under FERPA — we process education records on behalf of the school under a legitimate educational interest. We do not re-disclose student education records to any third party.
COPPA Note
NostaView does not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13. Photo contributors are not required to create accounts or provide personal information to upload photos. Schools are responsible for obtaining appropriate parental consent before collecting photos of students under 13. See our Photo Consent section in the Acceptable Use Policy for details.
Data Processing
US Schools: A signed Student Data Privacy Agreement (SDPA) is available for US district procurement. Email supports@nostaview.com with subject "SDPA Signature Request." Visit the Compliance Center for district IT resources.
EU/UK Schools: A signed Data Processing Agreement (GDPR DPA) is available. Email supports@nostaview.com to request one.
4 Fair Usage Limits
NostaView plans are designed to be genuinely unlimited for normal school use. The limits below define what normal use looks like — not to restrict you, but to ensure fair access for all schools on shared infrastructure.

What "Unlimited" Means
For paid plans, there is no hard cap on events or photos for normal school use. A typical school on Basic or Pro will run 5–30 events per year and collect a few hundred to a few thousand photos — this is what the platform is optimized for.
If a single school account accumulates 100,000+ photos or generates storage usage that materially affects platform performance for other schools, we will reach out to discuss an enterprise plan. We won't suspend your account without notice — we'll contact you first to find a solution.
API & Automated Upload
NostaView's upload endpoints are designed for human use via QR code scan. Automated bulk uploads via API, bots, or scripts are not permitted and will result in rate limiting. Repeated automated upload abuse will result in account suspension.
If you have a legitimate need for bulk or automated uploads (e.g., importing photos from a previous platform), contact supports@nostaview.com and we'll work with you on a solution.
Storage Per Photo
Photos uploaded via NostaView are stored at their original resolution up to 20 MB per file. Files larger than 20 MB are automatically resized on upload. We store one full-resolution copy — no multiple-resolution variants that artificially inflate storage counts against your limits.
5 Cancellation & Data Retention
Cancelling Your Subscription
You can cancel your Basic or Pro subscription at any time. No cancellation fees, no questions required.
- Monthly (Basic): Cancel from your account settings or email supports@nostaview.com. Access continues until the end of your current billing period.
- Annual (Pro): Cancel from your account settings. No partial refunds after 30 days. Access continues until your year ends.
What Happens After Cancellation
When your paid plan ends (cancellation, non-renewal, or payment failure), your account downgrades to the Free tier automatically. The following applies:

After your plan ends, you have 30 days to download all event photos. After this grace period, photos are permanently and irreversibly deleted. We send reminder emails at 30 days, 7 days, and 1 day before deletion. Don't miss them.
Refund Policy
- Monthly (Basic): No refunds for partial months. If you cancel mid-month, access continues to month end — no charge for the following month.
- Annual (Pro): Full refund within 30 days of purchase. No refunds after 30 days — access continues to year end.
- Exceptional circumstances: Contact supports@nostaview.com if you believe your situation warrants an exception. We'll review it fairly.
Full Account Deletion
To permanently delete your NostaView account and all associated data (school info, events, photos, team members), email supports@nostaview.com with the subject line "Account Deletion Request". All data is removed within 30 days of confirmation. This action is irreversible.
